Spring Creek Scholarship Program



The total Spring Creek Towers "Community College Scholarship Award" amounts range from a one-time award of $250 -$1,000 to a maximum of $2,000 over the course of two years. Award recipients must meet yearly academic eligibility requirements and their families must continue residency in Spring Creek Towers during the scholarship period.

The financial award is expected to aid applicant's tuition, books and other financial obligations imposed by the specific community college campus for up to two years.

It is the applicant's responsibility to advise the Spring Creek Scholarship Committee of all scholarships, outside awards, or other financial resources that the student may receive. Please tell us about all other foundations, trusts, and bequests, as well as scholarships provided by businesses, industries, and individuals interested in supporting the applicant.

All applications must be received by March 8, 2019.

You may drop off your completed application, with all supporting documents, in our office by 8 pm on March 8, 2019.

If you are submitting your completed application electronically, via internet, it must be received by 11:59 pm on March 8, 2019.

  • Have demonstrated a history of volunteer service and civic responsibility. Within the volunteer service performed, students must have a minimum of 125 hours community service in a project/program sponsored by a community based organization approved by Spring Creek Towers/Spring Creek Community Corp. Special recognition will be given to service provided to a Spring Creek Towers/Spring Creek Community Corp. or local community organization. (Please refer to the prepared list of pre-approved programs SCT/SCCC and local organizations; and, for information on how to obtain approval for local programs and organizations not on the list.).
  • Have a minimum of 50 hours school service/club/sports activities over the course of their high school career.
  • Reside in Spring Creek Towers for the past 2 years (2017-2018) and his/her name must appear on the most recent HUD Recertification Form.
  • Be a high school senior expected to graduate in June 2019.
  • Have a minimum overall GPA of 70%.
  • Demonstrate improved academic performance over the past 2 years.
  • Family of applicant must be in good standing in the Spring Creek Towers Community. The decision of Starrett City, Inc. Management/Spring Creek Community Corp. is final.
  • Fill out application completely and accurately. Use a computer or typewriter, additional pages may be added if needed. All information provided is subject to verification. False, inaccurate, illegible, incomplete or reformatted applications will result in immediate disqualification.



Upon receipt of completed applications and required documents, the SCT scholarship Selections Committee's (SCT SSC) representative, will review applications and select candidates to move on to the final interview process with the Spring Creek Towers' Scholarship Selection Committee.

****Community organizations that do not appear on the approved list must be approved by the Scholarship Committee prior to application submission for service credit.

  • An official copy of your most recent High School Transcript

  • Three letters of recommendation. (Two High School teachers and one personal, can not be from a family member.)

  • Submit a Community Service Performance Evaluation and Recommendation form for each school site activity and/or community service volunteer activity.

  • Essay (500 words minimum) on one of the topics listed below:
    1. Evaluate a significant experience, achievement, risk you have taken, or ethical dilemma you have faced and its impact on you.

    2. Indicate a person who has had a significant influence on you, and describe that influence.
