New York Meets Barbagia: Welcome!
Thursday, April 21 The students arrive in New York City. Reception with potluck dinner at Clinton Middle School until 7:00 PM.
Friday, April 22 Students partly join Clinton students activities.
Saturday, April 23 Full Day: Trip to Amagansett, Eastern Long Island, to visit the Costantino Nivola studio.
Sunday, April 24 Full Day: Statue of Liberty + Harbour Ferry tour and Ellis Island Museum.
Monday, April 25 Full Day: Private Tours @Moma (with art curator Tricia Paik) + Midtown, Rockefeller Center, shopping.
Tuesday, April 26 Morning: Special Project @SVA: Printmaking. Afternoon: Lunch in Little Italy, then visit Soho and Chinatown.
Wednesday, April 27 Full Day: Private tour @ Guggenheim Museum (tour of Buren exhibit with curator) + Hot dog lunch in Central Park. Private tour @Cooper Hewitt Museum (with Extreme Textiles curator, Matilda McQuaid).
@5:00 PM: Presentation of the Project Barbagia Meets New York at the School of Visual Arts.
Thursday, April 28 Morning: Special Project @SVA: write a poem and make a watercolor painting about world peace. Drawings will become part of a project sponsored byCityArts and called the "Pieces for Peace" mosaic.
Afternoon: Galleries in Chelsea OR walk down the Hudson River.
@8:00 PM: Dance Show (Cookin OR MMC)
Friday, April 29 Short Day: Natural History Museum and "Passport to the Universe" show @Planetarium.
EVENING: Farewell Dinner @ Moonstruck Diner.
Saturday, April 30 Morning: Free time. After lunch, departure to the Airport from Clinton.
